Do you feel loved by your Home Care provider?

Note: This guide is specifically for anyone receiving a Home Care Package (HCP).

If you're feeling taken for granted or not getting what you want from your Home Care provider, you should know that it's now easier than ever before to switch to another provider. As of 27 February 2017, you have complete control over your Home Care Package and can choose your own provider.

If you answer 'No' to any of the following questions, it may be worth considering switching to a different provider:

  • Are you happy with your current care worker?
  • Is your Home Care service meeting your expectations?
  • Are you getting enough information to understand what Home Care services you can access?
  • Is your Home Care provider reliable and courteous?
  • Are they arranging services at a time that's convenient to you?
  • Are you getting what you were promised?

With all the information floating around, it can be difficult to know exactly where you stand and what, if anything, you need to do. We've compiled a list of common questions to simplify things.

How can I switch?

From 27 February 2017, you get to decide how you want to spend your funds, and which provider delivers your services. You can switch providers whenever you want and your funding will follow you. Your funding is completely portable.
