You’re required to have a current police check in order to work in aged care. Southern Cross Care can help you apply for a new police check as part of our recruitment process. You'll also need to provide the contact details for two reference checks and undertake a pre-employment functional assessment.

For TAFE students, our placement program offers employment in the industry where you can develop your skills while you complete your certification.
For school students 15 years or older, apprenticeships and traineeships provide you with valuable employment skills, hands-on industry experience and a nationally recognised qualification, while still completing secondary school qualifications.
For 2nd and 3rd year nursing students, we offer the opportunity to work as a carer in the industry in one of our homes,where you can develop your skills while you complete your studies.
